Brandy Mincemeat Christmas Tart

Fabulously festive and surprisingly simple.


320g ready rolled shortcrust pastry 

100g small seedless red grapes

1 large egg yolk

1 jar Mincemeat with Brandy

Icing sugar, for dusting

1 jar of Brandy Butter

1. Lightly grease a 20cm pie dish. Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface, then press into the pie dish, leaving 1/3 of the pastry for the topping.


2. Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan/gas 6. Roll out the remaining pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 5mm thick and cut out shapes using a mixture of festive themed cutters.


3. Mix the Mincemeat with Brandy with the grapes and spoon into the pie dish. Arrange the pastry shapes on top, lightly brush the pastry with beaten egg yolk and bake the tart for 30-35 minutes or until the pastry shapes are lightly golden.


4. Serve the tart warm or cold, dusted with icing sugar and a generous dollop of Brandy Butter.
