Toad in the Hole with Wholegrain Mustard
A warm and filling family favourite. Perfect on a cold Winters day. The delicious addition of Cottage Delight’s Wholegrain Mustard adds an extra depth of flavour to the batter.
Ingredients
- 8 good quality sausages
- 4 oz of plain flour
- 1 egg
- Pinch of salt
- Half a pint of milk
- 2tsp of Cottage Delight Wholegrain Mustard
- 1 red onion sliced
Method
- Preheat oven to 220C/425F gas mark 7.
- Lightly grease a 10x12 inch roasting tin.
- Add the sliced red onion with sausages, put in the oven for 15 minutes.
- Combine the flour, salt, egg, milk and mustard.
- Add the batter to the sausages and cook for a further 35/45 minutes until well risen and golden.
- Serve at once with freshly steamed vegetables.
